Limbah minyak adalah buangan yang berasal dari hasil eksplorasi produksi minyak, pemeliharaan fasilitas produksi, fasilitas penyimpanan, pemrosesan, dan tangki penyimpanan minyak pada kapal laut.[1] Limbah minyak bersifat mudah meledak, mudah terbakar, bersifat reaktif, beracun, menyebabkan infeksi, dan bersifat korosif.[1] Limbah minyak merupakan bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3), karena sifatnya, konsentrasi maupun jumlahnya dapat mencemarkan dan membahayakan lingkungan hidup, serta kelangsungan hidup manusia dan mahluk hidup lainnya.[2]

terumbu karang

Terumbu karang adalah sekumpulan hewan karang yang bersimbiosis dengan sejenis tumbuhan alga yang disebut zooxanhellae.[1] Terumbu karang termasuk dalam jenis filum Cnidaria kelas Anthozoa yang memiliki tentakel.[1] Kelas Anthozoa tersebut terdiri dari dua Subkelas yaitu Hexacorallia (atau Zoantharia) dan Octocorallia, yang keduanya dibedakan secara asal-usul, Morfologi dan Fisiologi.[2]

Pupuk organik

Pupuk organik adalah pupuk yang tersusun dari materi makhluk hidup, seperti pelapukan sisa -sisa tanaman, hewan, dan manusia.[1 ] Pupuk organik dapat berbentuk padat atau cair yang digunakan untuk memperbaiki sifat fisik, kimia, dan biologi tanah.[2] Pupuk organik mengandung banyak bahan organik daripada kadar haranya.[2] Sumber bahan organik dapat berupa kompos, pupuk hijau, pupuk kandang, sisa panen (jerami, brangkasan, tongkol jagung, bagas tebu, dan sabut kelapa), limbah ternak, limbah industri yang menggunakan bahan pertanian, dan limbah kota (sampah).
